In the box

Hello my Peoples!! I missed you! Did you miss me? Been away from here looong long, but well, I guess not much news to share except: Baby is growing by the second and mighty cute! Construction of our house in a lot of progress, (photos soon , I promise) Carlos has been doing an amazing one-man-job while I watch over house and baby matters... So I came by to post some pics of my bub playing inside a box for the first time in this lifetime, today, hooray! xxx!

It´s a very happy half-a-birthday to you!

Half a year of mothering today. My boy so close to my heart, oh boy I love you. Made a paper crown for him in the morning, I gave him a wooden spoon to play with and papa a cassette tape. Later my parents came for a barbecue and we even had a tiny cake and blew candles! I was quite excited and singing happy half a birthday all day! On other news: I´ve been trying the baby led aproach to solids, but still haven´t gotten the whole hang of it. Avocado pieces are way to slippery for him to grab (I read you´re supposed to coat them on some kind of dust but I´m not sure what...) and today he was very happily munching on some cooked carrot batons, but a whole chunk came out the *other way*, undigested! (should I have cooked them a little more?) Any of you fellow mamas got any tips on this? So I´m very warm-hearted and tired and going to sleep now, I thought I´d post our birth story to celebrate but even though I´ve written it threee times, it still doesn´t seem just right... Good nite!

I´ll keep you updated, here you can see the first step!!

Music Sharing

We listen to a lot of music in this family. Really a lot. It´s a big part of our lives. We are constantly inspired and affected by new music and I often feel like sharing a song I love here on the blog. So I decided to create a Sound Cloud account so that I can upload tracks and share them with you. Today I want you to hear this beautiful song by Josephine Foster from the album Graphic as a Star. The album is formed by 27 Emily Dickinson poems made into songs and it´s great, soft and femenine but strong and alive at the same time. I discovered it shortly after my bub was born and we´ve listened to it together countles times. This is one of my favorite songs in the album, Tell as a Marksman. I love how it builds up and has a very pasionate energy. I leave you with the song, and below you can read Emily´s poem and sing along.
Tell As A Marksman--Josephine Foster by LOVE LIFE

Tell as a Marksman — were forgotten by Emily Dickinson

Tell as a Marksman — were forgotten
Tell — this Day endures
Ruddy as that coeval Apple
The Tradition bears —

Fresh as Mankind that humble story
Though a statelier Tale
Grown in the Repetition hoary
Scarcely would prevail —

Tell had a son — The ones that knew it
Need not linger here —
Those who did not to Human Nature
Will subscribe a Tear —

Tell would not bare his Head
In Presence
Of the Ducal Hat —
Threatened for that with Death — by Gessler —
Tyranny bethought

Make of his only Boy a Target
That surpasses Death —
Stolid to Love's supreme entreaty
Not forsook of Faith —

Mercy of the Almighty begging —
Tell his Arrow sent —
God it is said replies in Person
When the cry is meant —

Get well NOW, my boy!

My dearest baby Mundzuk has been a little sick for the first time ever with a cough. It´s the first time for me as a mama to be worried for my boy like this and it´s hard! My love is so big that emotions sometimes get out of hand. It reminds me of being pregnant, fearing all the "what ifs" of pregnancy and childbirth and trying to make the fears fly away and dissapear. Now I just want my boy to be well and stop with this cough so he can sleep and play peacefuly.
So I just came by the blog to get make a statement over here in the interworld: Get well NOW beautiful baby Mundzuk!!!
We love you!
You are dewicious!!
ps: remember on my last post I said to check out my baby´s blond hair? Well don´t you think it looks rather redish on these pics? Smiles.... He´ll probabably have brown hair when he´s older. Brown hair and blue eyes, sigh!

BM´s First tooth!

Balthazar Mundzuk´s first tooth made it´s appearance today, after very little fuzzing the last few days. I´m proud of you my little monkey! I love you! In these photos you can´t see his brand new tooth cause I haven´t got it in photo yet, but what you can admire is his long and fluffy, just washed blonde hair. Sigh...

Morning Walking

When we used to live here last year, we had no baby yet, and our mornings where quite slow... we didn´t get up until until eight thirty or nine and had extended moments at the breakfast table. Now with Balthazar, who wakes up every day in a striking good mood around seven, many mornings we set off, after (or sometimes before)some breakfast, and go out for early morning walks around the land. It´s winter now, and even though the days have been sunny and beautyful, the night time brings quite a chill, and early in the morning there is frost all over the bright green grass.
I absolutely love this new ritual, and so does specially the little one. He very much enjoys riding in his buggy covered with a cozy wool blanket my mama knit for him, but sometimes he just goes in arms or "worn" in a baby wrap.
Here are some shots for our early morning sunshine walk a couple days ago.
Wishing you the best I say good night, from a cozy spot close to the fireplace in the deep quiet night.
